Gypsy has the honour of being literally the first ever Asryn Siberian Husky to be born and the first newborn puppy I ever held in my hand. She was the product of years of planning and dreams, of watching confirmation and movement of hundreds of dogs at shows and a lot of studying pedigree after pedigree after pedigree.

Though Gypsy sadly passed away in 2018 her legacy and influence will live on

A daughter of our much loved Elle and my beautiful and much loved Dealer, this red and white girl always had great presence and attitude, stunningly clean and effortless movement, and wonderful front and rear angulation. She was a persistent significant presence within the Utility Group of SA for many years.

Gypsy was a real gem, both in confirmation, style and temperament. She was a once in a lifetime dog. Could we have wished for anything better upon which to build a kennels reputation and breeding hopes and plans? I very much doubt it.

As a puppy, she travelled to Melbourne and was the 2005 Royal Melbourne Show Best Puppy In Show.

In September 2007 Gypsy won BEST IN SPECIALTY SHOW at the 20th Annual Championship Show of the Siberian Club of Victoria under breed specialist judge Mrs Janis Church-Stadler from the USA Gypsy also won BISS on the same day at the club's open show. Gypsy is litter sister to Ch. Asryn Arctic Connection.

As she matured Gypsy become a multi all breeds Best In Show winner (with multiple BIS wins every year over many of showing). Gypsy was my first homebred Champion, my first homebred Best In Show winner, my first Speciality Best In Show winner and my first Supreme Champion. Gypsy’s son Striker (Grand Champion Asryn Lightening Strikes) later became a BIS winner himself, a fitting tribute to his mum.

Gypsy earned her retirement – we just couldn’t quite explain that to her. Whilst she loved the couch or human bed she also asked every time she saw the dogs being prepared is she could go along. She had nothing left to prove but just loved showing. She would have run herself around the ring and self-stacked in front of the judge (something she actually did do once) right up until the end.

In her last few years of showing alone she won 34 Best In Groups, 16 Runner Up Best In Groups, 6 Best In Shows and 5 Runner Up Best In Shows.
