our training facilities

Do you want a better-behaved companion? We aim to solve your dog problems so that you can enjoy spending quality time with your pet. We specialise in a wide variety of behavioral problems including dog aggression, jumping up, pulling or misbehaving on the lead, and dominant behaviour.

We offer private instruction in obedience & behavioural modification with experienced dog trainers.  Sessions can be held here or we can come to you. We also offer boarding training options where training can be provided for your dog while it is boarded with us where this is appropriate.

Whatever the problem we will work with you and your dog to find the right solution.

BEHAVIOURAL ASSESSMENTS

In the case of serious behavioural problems, whether these be aggression, dominant or anxiety based, we offer behavioural assessments. The dog stays at our kennels for two days (usually over a weekend) and we assess its behaviour, working with the dog to discover what stimulates the behavioural problems and the dogs’ response to various behaviour modification processes. Owners then spend an hour with our trainer working with their dog going through suggested ongoing management techniques.

PUPPY SESSION (for new owners and their puppies)

The early development period is a critical time for any puppy as this time will form the basis for all that your dog will be in the future.  According to a variety of research into canine breeding and behaviour approximately 40% of a dogs ultimate behavioural makeup is genetic and the rest (60 %) is attributed to its upbringing, training, socialisation, nutrition and health care. Socialisation begins while a puppy is with its mother and littermates, adjusting to the noises and interactions around them. Whilst the whole juvenile period of a dogs life is important,  the first four to five months are fundamental to a dogs eventual psychological development. A new puppy owner’s role in the first weeks and months is therefore vital to the developing mind of the dog as they begin to explore the world around them with their new owner(s).

Our Puppy session is an ideal start for new dog owners. You and your pup will be led through basic obedience training (lead training, heeling, sitting and stays) and you will be led through a range of care and training issues, which will assist you over the coming months as your dog grow's and develops. Topics covered include how dogs think and communicate, issues specific to growing puppies, dog handling, health, housebreaking, crate training, grooming, feeding, and activities that you can become involved with your dog. You will also have the opportunity to discuss any specific problems you are having with your puppy and ways to deal with such issues.
