For a number of years Karen Bryant partnered with Michele Hupfeld and Caroline Elder under the prefix Shigriff, breeding both smooth & rough coated Griffon Bruxellious. Shigriff dogs have been very successful, highlights being Best of Breed & challenges at Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney Royals as wells as multiple Best in Shows & Runner-Up Best in Shows at breed Specialties against national competition, & Best in Groups at all breed shows.
This toy breed originated in Belgium and was made famous by the Griffon, which stared in the Jack Nicholson film As Good As It Gets. Griffons make great family dogs being friendly, low maintenance, and very suitable as a companion for elderly owners. Griffons are very trainable and many have achieved obedience and agility titles.
Whilst we are no longer part of Shigriff we maintain a strong interest in the breed and hope to continue and involvement with the breed in the future. We are current members of the Griffon Bruxellois Club of Vic. as well as the South Australian Canine Association.
We are not currently breeding Griffons but we do hope to begin breeding these lovely little dogs again sometime in the future. For now here are details of a few of the dogs bred by Shigriff during our association and others behind the pedigrees along with breed information. |
